Comparisons…

Comparing ourselves to other people is something we all tend to do.

Personally, I have compared myself to my friends and others who I thought were living their best life. I thought I was going nowhere in life.

That point in my life caused me to have self-doubt, low self-esteem, and depression. Over time, I had to realize that if I am not grounded in God’s word then I’ll fall victim to society’s standards and expectations.

Romans 12:2 tells us, “ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Everyone’s journey is unique and no one story is the same.

But what is the same is, God’s unchanging hand because God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). He will never leave us or forsake us, so don’t be afraid (Isaiah 41:10).

I cannot tell you how many times in the past I have beaten myself up because I was almost 30 years old and didn’t have the job I wanted, living at home with my parents, and single. Not realizing that God is all that I needed, He is my source and provider.

I’m glad that I’m no longer in that dark place, and I know that what God has for me, is for me only. Please understand that I still have moments of doubt but now I know who to turn to and where to turn, and that’s to God’s faithful word and His glorious power.

Remember you are a QUEEN, a survivor, and God’s masterpiece.

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago” (Ephesians 2:10).

No matter what situation you’re in at this season in your life, hold your up queen because God has got you and hasn’t forgotten about you (Isaiah 49:15).

As a good friend told me, be honest with God and let Him into your heart. So, hold your head up, QUEEN!
