Sometimes, it seems that peace is tough to cultivate…

Especially when you’re facing a frustrating trial. It’s also a tough concept to take in if you’re in a season of waiting.

And while it sounds easier said than done, the Lord’s unchanging hand is always available for us to cling to.

Our job is to draw nearer to Him every day.

Because there is no doubt that He is our solid founder.

Memoirs of a Virtuous Woman, recently reached out to our amazing email subscribers to ask:

“What scriptures bring you peace?”

We received so many incredible responses.

And prayerfully, they’ll bring you hope in any season that you’re in.

Now, let’s get into it:

Deonna Moore Taylor says her favorite scripture on peace is Romans 8:28.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.”

“This very familiar scripture gives me the most peace because it’s confirmation that in whatever season or situation I am in, it’s working for my good and God has me in His heart.

Even in the midst of adversity, there’s always hope, a lesson, and a blessing.

Sometimes, as humans, we may not appreciate the inconveniences that come with adversity, the process and getting through them can’t do anything but make us stronger, wiser and bring us closer to God.

For even in my weakest state, that is where I find my greatest strength – and because I am loved and called by my Heavenly Father, I cannot fail – even in a season of loss, the believer still wins.” Deonna Moore Taylor

Deborah Blore says hers is Psalm 143:8:

“Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”

“I try to remember to say it every day. It wakes you up knowing you’re loved and divinely guided. What more could anyone ask for?” – Deborah Blore

Erika Simon says the scripture that brings her peace is Proverbs 3:5:

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”

“It’s a reminder that no matter how bad a situation seems, God is in control and I must trust Him always. I cannot base things on my own knowledge, but by his unchanging hand.” – Erika Simon

Mika Hicks loves reflecting on 1 Peter 5:7:

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

“This verse brings me peace because it makes me realize that God cares about everything that concerns me. I am not alone in any circumstance and God is right there with me through it all.” – Mika Hicks

Denisha Rue says Psalm 42:2 brings her comfort when it comes to peace:

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?”

This whole Psalm has been ministering to me for the last couple of months.

It brings me so much peace as I long to be in the presence of God. This verse reminds me that only the Lord will always quench our thirst – the peace that comes from this verse is that we serve a living God and our souls will always be satisfied.” – Denisha Rue

Anne Herron says Psalm 4:8 is one of many verses that brings her peace:

“In peace, I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

I love this verse because it reminds me that no matter what is going on around me, I can rest in the Lord.

He is the one who makes me dwell in safety no matter what else is going on. I have a tendency to worry and then at night have trouble settling down.

This verse also gives me the reassurance to keep trusting God – since He watches over me, I can have peace in my heart.” – Anne Herron

Anastasia Horton says 1 John 5:14-15 reassures that her prayers are heard.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

When I ask anything according to his will, he hears me.

Knowing this brings me peace and confidence.  I get up ready to face my situation knowing Jesus is with me.

There is nothing in this world that can provide such peace and confidence other than knowing that I have the petitions that I desire of him. Oh… Such Peace!

We hope these scriptures remind you of God’s comfort.
