This month we’re taking a moment to chat with Darlene Hill, the founder of D’Liteful Trends! I was excited to learn about Mrs. Hill and her love for empowering and encouraging women to create an outer beauty that expresses and accentuates their inner beauty. Let’s jump into her interview! – Danielle
MVW: What inspired you to start D’Liteful Trends?
Darlene: My passion for fashion stems from the virtues imparted by my mom at an early age. Little did I know growing up, watching her getting dressed on Sunday mornings would create a passion for beauty within me. That passion never went away and continues to be one of the driving forces behind the love I have for fashion and D’Liteful Trends.
MVW: What do you think is the biggest challenge facing many women today as it relates to inner beauty?
Darlene: The biggest challenge I see that women face today is trying to develop into someone else’s idea of beauty and not the beauty God created and adorned each of us with. I’m very passionate about women being themselves! Love who you are. Learn to love and appreciate yourself! Never imitate. I just recently shared a social media post stating how women should “Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful.”
MVW: There are plenty of great blog posts on your site that focus on health and wellness. How important is it for women to stay on top of this?
Darlene: Staying on top of our health walk is life important! I love sharing with people not to focus so much on dieting, but simply focus on making good eating choices which will lead to eating healthy! Be intentional and plan to live a life of abundance.
MVW: Your style is beautiful! In a world that is filled with so many immodest choices, you encourage women to dress with class. Tell us briefly about your love for fashion as it relates to providing tips to other women.
Darlene: Thank you! Again, early in life, my choice of clothes and style were imparted by my mom. My professional career path also directed my style of clothes, so dressing modestly and professionally became a standard for me at an early age in life. Now today I’ve created my own standards, my own confidence, and competence, but never forgetting the knowledge and wisdom of what my mom taught me. I believe it’s important to have a professional role model since we live in a world filled with so many immodest choices. My tips are simple! I share who I am, what I love, and what inspires me.
