“I enjoy writing & creating new ways to share the gift that God has given me with the world by standing in my purpose. Although I enjoy writing & creating, it doesn’t define who I am. I am simply an Imperfect Queen created by a Perfect God striving to be the woman He has created me to be.”

Now, let’s jump into the interview!

MVW: Why is your book “Give Her Back Her Crown” a necessity right now for women?

Lakisha: We are in a time where women are divided & young Queens are being exposed to negative examples as to how to handle conflict, and social media has become their nesting ground. It’s time to show our young Queens a better way.

A way that will cause them to extend grace, mercy, & unconditional love.

A way where they will understand that we’re stronger together. A way where forgiveness will be replaced with hate. A way where they will give other Queens back their crowns so that they can recover from their brokenness. A way where we as women can heal inwardly and be the Queens that God has always known us to be.

And I believe that Give Her Back Her Crown will empower other women to do the same.

MVW: What do you think is the biggest reason why many women are broken on the inside?

Lakisha: I feel that many of us have been taught to remain silent about our struggles; therefore, causing us to implode & later explode. We have been taught that expressing our deepest pains, shame, & regrets displays our weaknesses; therefore, causing us to play strong for the world while we’re dying on the inside.

And because of this, the world experiences our brokenness (Dim Light) instead of our (True Healing in Christ) that causes our light to shine so brightly that it leaves a path for others to run out of the dark gloom that’s holding them hostage.

MVW: If someone who is broken is reading this right now, what scriptures would you point her to and why?

Lakisha: Isaiah 61:3 I will give them a crown to replace their ashes, and the oil of gladness to replace their sorrow, and clothes of praise to replace their spirit of sadness. Then they will be called Trees of Goodness, trees planted by the Lord to show his greatness. (NCV)

Women need to know that they can recover. In knowing this, it will encourage them to get back up; not lay down & die.

Psalm 56:8 You have recorded my troubles. You have kept a list of my tears. Aren’t they in Your records? (NCV)

Queens, no matter who you are, God hears you. He sees your pain & you will recover. Get back up Queens!
