Life is full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and unexpected detours. It can be overwhelming at times, especially when you’re facing uncertainty and feel like you’re walking in the dark. But no matter how dark things may seem, you can find hope in Christ and trust in His plan for your life.
I know this firsthand because I’ve been through some pretty tough times myself. Back in 2017, I lost my mom to a sudden illness. It was a devastating blow that left me reeling. But even in the midst of my grief and uncertainty, I knew that God had a plan for my life and that He was with me every step of the way.
You see, my mom was a woman of faith who had a deep and abiding trust in God. She taught me from a young age to put my hope and trust in Him, no matter what life threw my way. And even though losing her was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure, her legacy of faith and hope continues to inspire me to this day.
In fact, even though I’ve been baptized twice (once in high school and another time in college) it was through her passing that I came to a deeper understanding of the hope that we have in Christ. I say that because 15 years before losing her, I lost my dad – so I felt completely alone without having either of them. However, thanks to their wisdom in Christ, I realized that even in the darkest moments of life, when we feel like we’re walking in alone in the dark, God is still with you. He is the light that shines in the darkness, the rock on which we can stand, and the hope that never fades
So, how can we find hope and trust in God’s plan for our lives during times of uncertainty? Here are a few things that have helped me on my own journey:
1. Spend time in prayer and Bible study. This is where we can find comfort, wisdom, and guidance from God’s Word.
2. Surround yourself with a supportive community. We were not meant to journey alone, and having friends and family who can encourage and pray for us can make a huge difference.
3. Choose to focus on the positives. Instead of dwelling on what we don’t have or can’t do, let’s focus on what we do have and can do. Let’s find joy in the little things and celebrate even the smallest victories.
4. Trust in God’s plan. We may not always understand why we’re going through certain situations, but we can trust that God has a purpose and a plan for our lives. We can rest in the knowledge that He is in control and that His ways are higher than ours.
This spring, as you embrace new beginnings and look forward to brighter days ahead, let’s remember that you can find hope in times of uncertainty by trusting in God’s plan for our lives. It’s not always easy, and there may be times when you feel like giving up. But if you hold on to your faith and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, we can face anything that comes our way with courage and hope.
So, if you’re going through a difficult season right now, take heart. You are not alone, and God has not forgotten you. He sees you, He loves you, and He has a plan for your life. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and watch as He brings beauty out of the ashes.
As the psalmist wrote, “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5). Hold on to that promise and keep walking forward with faith, hope, and love.
